Headless storefront

A storefront for a nursery whose catalog changes with the seasons, built so the owner edits it from her phone between waterings.

Placeholder case study: a fictional brief that shows the layout until real work replaces it.

Context

Stock at a nursery is alive. A product can exist for three weeks, and photographs taken on Monday are wrong by Friday. The previous site, a template, needed a developer for every change.

Idea

Model the catalog around care, not SKUs: light, water, size, season. Let the owner publish from Sanity on a phone, and render the storefront statically so the busiest day of spring costs nothing to serve.

Craft

A plant page reads like a label on the pot: light, water, how big it gets, when to repot.

Seasonal collections are a date range in the CMS; the homepage rotates by itself.

Checkout stays on Shopify; everything the visitor reads is static HTML.

Outcome

Shipped on Astro with Sanity previews.
